First Day of School

The kids have been counting down the days until school started again (well, at least two of them have been). McKenna and Zachary have been so excited for school to start again and getting to see those friends they haven't seen all summer. Bon, on the other hand, could go another 3 months of summer vacation. Zachary starts 2nd grade this year, McKenna is in 4th, and as scary as it sounds, Bon is in 10th, and starting high school this year.

Bon is still in the mode of being laid back, and school is just an interference with his social life. But I have complete confidence that he's going to shine this year and show everyone what he is really made of. We just got the study guide so he can start studying for his drivers permit - I'm still not sure I'm ready for this. I'm not ready for him to be this big. Wasn't he just five last week? I do wish all of you could see his "great" taste in back-to-school clothes. You can't really see it in the pic I have of him, but those are bright green shoes!!! (I'll try to sneak a few more pics for everyone)

McKenna just loves school. She loves every aspect of it - from learning, teaching, and socializing. She seems to have the knack of picking up on everything she does instantly and has no troubles adapting. She is a bit of a perfectionist so everything she does, she does well. Her favorite subject would probably be art. She is such an amazing artist (actually all three of them are), and I love to see what she is going to create next. Another thing she really enjoys is reading. She has always been an exceptional reader, and loves to sit down with a good book (maybe she does get something from me).

And for Zachary. He does great in school, but you can tell he is definitely there for the social life - already!! He comes home everyday telling me who his new girlfriend is...he's only 7!! He is so confident and sure of himself that he is just hilarious and fun to be around. He is going to do great in school again this year...and have a lot of fun while he's at it.
